A Historic Day for the Westlake Women’s Golf Association (WWGA)

On August 18, 2016, the Westlake Women’s Golf Association (WWGA) made history! This was the first time that Westlake’s male golfers joined the women during Ladies Day to participate in the annual WWGA charity tournament. This year’s “Keep It Local” charity was the same as last year’s – the First Lieutenant Dennis W. Zelinski II Memorial Fund, which is used in many ways to support veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Over 100 participants played golf, dined together, and signed up to win some fabulous prizes! There was also a special “God Bless America” video presented by Diane O’Connor during the opening comments at the luncheon. While everyone enjoyed a delicious buffet offering grilled vegetables, green bean salad, baked potatoes, tacos and all the fixins – The best part was everyone coming together to help raise a significant contribution for a very worthy cause. The WWGA is also conducting a “Fall Fling” dance scheduled for Saturday, September 3rd, 2016 at the Westlake Golf & Country Club Ballroom and all proceeds will be donated to the same charity.  Photography by John Hardy:
